Breast Augmentation in Dubai

Genetics and natural changes in the body can leave you with breasts that are too small, lack definition and volume, or are simply an unattractive shape. Breast augmentation, also referred to as “breast aug”, “breast enhancement”, or “boob job”, can enhance the shape or size of breasts through the use of implants or fat transfer, leaving you with a balanced aesthetic. Many women get this surgery for improved appearance; however, in some cases, it may be required for medical purposes as well. The surgery lasts for around one hour, and the outcome is symmetrical breasts, improved confidence, and a more contoured physique.

What is Breast Augmentation Procedure?

Breast augmentation is a surgical procedure in which implants are inserted into the breast area after making incisions to enhance the shape and volume of the targeted area. Another technique is the transfer of fats from other parts of the body to the breast area. Women opt for breast augmentation with fat transfer for more natural results.

This treatment is performed to make breasts look fuller and firmer. It can be performed both as an outpatient or inpatient procedure under twilight or general anesthesia. The procedure of performing breast augmentation varies depending on the type of implant, technique, placement of incisions, and other factors. Known as augmentation mammoplasty in medical terms, breast augmentation offers numerous benefits. It allows women to flaunt a symmetrical appearance with full confidence and panache. Some of its main benefits include:

  • Enhanced appearance due to a better symmetry
  • No more uneven breasts
  • Improved self-confidence
  • Restoration of breasts after pregnancy
  • Rebuilding of breasts after a mastectomy procedure
  • A youthful appearance

Who Can Get Breast Augmentation Surgery?

Breast augmentation surgery is not for everyone. There’s an eligibility criterion that one has to meet in order to get this treatment. Those who suffer from certain diseases or have not reached the age of maturity are not recommended to get it. Generally, one can get this surgery if:

  • They are 18 years or above
  • They have a decent general health
  • They have realistic expectations from the surgery
  • Their breasts are smaller in size; thus, they do not suit their body
  • Their breasts have become less firm post-pregnancy
  • They want to decrease the size of their breasts
  • They have lost a definite shape of their breasts after losing weight
  • There’s a noticeable difference in the size of the breast, i.e. one is smaller than the other

What Does Breast Augmentation Include?

The breast augmentation procedure includes the insertion of the implants through incisions. These implants vary in terms of shape, size, and composition.

Silicone Implants

Filled with 100% pure grade silicone gel, these implants feel a bit more like natural breast tissue. Silicone breast implants are FDA-approved for augmentation in women age 22 or older. However, there’s no age limit when it comes to getting these implants for breast reconstruction. They come in different sizes, ensuring customization and have either textured or smooth shells.

Advantages

  • Look and feel more natural
  • Lower rate of rippling and wrinkling
  • Less likely to rupture

Saline Implants

Saline-filled breast implants come in a variety of shapes, sizes, profiles, and surface textures. They are inserted into the body without fluid. However, once the surgeon has inserted them into the designated place, a fill-tube is used to fill the implants with a saltwater solution to the desired size during the surgery. When the fill-tube is removed, the implant automatically seals itself.

Advantages

  • Utilizes smaller incisions
  • The rate of capsular contracture is low

Cohesive Gel

Cohesive gel breast implants use a silicone gel that’s thicker than traditional silicone filling and has more of a tendency to maintain its shape. These are also known as “form-stable” or “gummy bear” implants. They have the tendency to retain their shape and deform less as compared to other types. This type of implant is also known to be quite durable.

Advantages

  • No leakage risk
  • Better in terms of holding their shape
  • Reduced risk of capsular contracture
  •  More natural-looking results

Procedure of Breast Augmentation Surgery

Initial Consultation

An initial consultation takes place between the surgeon and the patient before the surgery. This consultation session holds great importance as it provides the surgeon with an opportunity to understand the patient’s requirements and expectations from the surgery. Furthermore, the patient can also know during the session if they are a suitable candidate for this surgery and what results they can expect. If you have any doubts, concerns, or questions, feel free to clear them during this initial consultation.

Preparation

There are certain guidelines the patient must follow prior to the surgery for a quick recovery. This includes giving smoking and drinking a break. Moreover, doctors also advise avoiding nicotine for a minimum of 6 weeks, not only before but after the procedure as well.

Many people stress before the surgery. However, at Aesthetics International, we use the latest equipment and the surgery is performed by our most experienced doctors; therefore, you can rest assured you will get the desired results, which were discussed with you during the consultation session. Our surgeon may also recommend you to undergo ultrasonography or mammography before the surgery to get a better picture of the area.

Procedure

The surgery starts with sedating the patient using anesthesia. Then, the placement of the implants is identified, and incisions are made. The most experienced surgeons at Aesthetics International opt for subglandular or submuscular placement. In the case of the former, implants are placed under the breast tissue. However, they are more visible. For the latter, implants are placed under the muscle. They are less visible and have well-concealed edges. Furthermore, there’s a low risk of capsular contracture. After making incisions, the doctor places the implants and closes the area.

Post-surgery Care

You will have to wear a surgical/sports bra for at least a month in order to provide the needed support to the breasts post-surgery. It is important that you avoid strenuous activities and heavy exercises post-surgery. Furthermore, refrain from pushing, pulling, or lifting heavy objects.

During the recovery period, the patient may feel soreness and swelling. In some cases, there may be visible bruising as well. However, soreness, swelling and bruising subside over time. Furthermore, scars also fade away but do not entirely disappear. Follow-up visits are recommended if the patient suffers from complications of the surgery, i.e. infection, or the swelling/bruising doesn’t go away on its own. In case the sutures haven’t been absorbed on their own, a follow-up appointment is required for their removal.

Expected Results of Breast Augmentation

You will see a noticeable increase in the size of the breast post this treatment. However, it will take several weeks for the implants to settle down. And it can take up to three months for the breasts to adjust to their final shape. However, individual results vary from patient to patient. This is due to the fact that each surgery or treatment has different aspects.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

No, breast augmentation isn’t permanent. However, as per the FDA, the results may last for at least 10 years. It is recommended to get them replaced every ten years. Otherwise, implants may rupture, leading to inflammation if not removed at the right time. This can lead to scar tissue development.

Generally, the breast augmentation procedure is considered safe. However, there are a few risks associated with it. These include infection, breast pain, development of scar tissues that can change the implant’s shape, changes in implants’ position etc. Furthermore, there is a risk of implants leakage or rupture as well. Lastly, some women also experience changes in breast sensation and nipple. If received by the best surgeon, the chances of suffering from these complications get minimized.

In the fat transfer breast augmentation procedure, fats sourced from the patient’s own body are inserted into the breast for a fuller and contoured appearance. Women opt for this technique as it requires minimum incisions and leaves fewer scars. This technique offers dual benefits since fat from one part of the body is removed and inserted into another part, resulting in a more contoured silhouette. Another remarkable feature of this technique is that it offers more natural results.

The cost of getting breast augmentation surgery varies from patient to patient. Different factors such as their age, any other condition they suffer from, and the type of implants also come into play. Lastly, the clinic and surgeon selected for breast augmentation surgery in Dubai also determine the total cost. At Aesthetics International, you can get the best treatment at the most competitive rates.

For the procedure of breast augmentation to be performed, a woman must have fully developed breasts. This is why the minimum age set for breast augmentation surgery is 18. However, it is mostly women who are in their 20s and 30s who get this procedure for increasing breast size and fullness. Women in their 40s get it to restore the size of the breast and get a better shape.

It depends on numerous factors. For the right size, it all comes down to your requirements and the kind of results you desire to achieve with the surgery. And for the type, if you’re looking to get a more natural result, opt for silicone implants. Silica implants can be opted for if you want smaller incisions.

During this procedure, implants are placed between the breast and chest wall. They do not interfere with the breast ducts. Therefore, in most cases, women can breastfeed after getting this surgery. However, the amount of milk produced may get affected.

Often used interchangeably, breast augmentation and breast implants are drastically different. An implant is a synthetic part that is placed under the breast for fullness or increasing the size via surgery. The entire process of insertion of the implants is called breast augmentation.

Scars will continue to refine & will vary amongst patients depending on their natural healing process & location of incisions. Scars are generally refined to fine incision lines one year after surgery.

Tightness in the chest region is a normal experience as the skin, muscles and tissue stretch to accommodate your implants and as sensory nerves heal. Pain medication and muscle relaxants will help you cope with any discomfort.
